Nollywood actress, Jayeola Monje has penned a deep note to filmmaker, Biodun Stephen, who is going through a tough time.
The award-winning filmmaker had taken to her Instagram page to share her ordeal with area boys, who took advantage of their weakness to make money for themselves. She revealed that her bus broke down on the road and she had to spend 22k on area boys before they could help her.
“As of now; we have parted with 22k to area boys just because our bus broke down. If we stand by watching, na we all go suffer am. I’m calling on the government to please deliver us from Area Boys!!!!! I am BEGGING”.
Reacting to it, Jayeola Monje penned a deep note to her, noting how she feels her pain and can relate to it. Unfortunately, it is heartbreaking for her to know that we live in a society where people don’t understand what pain is anymore.
She stated that the only hope we have as citizens is the government but they hear our cries and play deaf ears to it.
Providing a solution, Jayeola urged m theater practitioners to come under one vice and protest against the wicked act.

Blood are in the eyes of these boys and the only help we have is the Government. They hear our cries but act like ko kan mi.

These boys claimed to be the government themselves (who won beat them?) and when you cry or run…to WHOM Gangan? We don’t deserve this punishment we get as citizens of the country, especially at our workplaces or locations.

I think all theater practitioners should come under one voice (umbrella) and protest against this wicked act! Everywhere you go, is their father’s land or area shameful, very shameful indeed.
I don’t know any more ways to tackle these problematic beings. We must find a way to the heart of our leaders!

Last year, veteran actor, Taiwo Hassan faced a worse experience with touts when he visited his hometown in Ilaro to inspect a project.
Recounting the ordeal, he narrated how some unknown guys walked up to him for the normal self-appraisals, and he eventually succumbed to it. Things took a turn for the worse when one of the touts, who knew of his celebrity status, wanted to drain him more. The actor flared up and lost his cool when the tout dared him and blows were exchanged. The incident left his car severely damaged.
