Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has clarified his viral birthday message to his colleague, Kate Henshaw.
Kemi Filani reported a few days back that Jim, in a birthday post, had slammed Kate on behalf of his 23-year-old self for treating him like a baby brother when she knew he wanted to hit that. He noted how she knew he had an imagination far from friendly and wanted to experiment with his seed. He slammed her for allowing him to finally hit the Apex of his wildness and restlessness. Iyke stated that Kate stopped looking out for him, took everything he did literally, and ran off and married a white man.
In a new interview, Jim said he meant every word he wrote and wasn’t trying to impress anyone. He explained that the message was simply him expressing a deep, long-standing friendship with someone he has known for over two decades.
He further said that Kate is one of the few people he can speak to without fear of judgment. Jim described her as “his boy”—someone he trusts completely and can be vulnerable with without any romantic or sexual undertones.
The controversial actor also addressed the assumptions many had about the tone of his message, which was sexual. He emphasised that there’s nothing sexual about it as Kate is someone he can speak his truth to and get honest advice from.
He described their relationship as a genuine friendship.
“There’s nothing sexual about it. This is someone I can speak my truth to and get honest advice from. It’s just a genuine friendship”.
Reacting to the post, Gideon Okeke slammed him for his narcīssistic effrontery. Calling him a motherfukka and bone head, he questioned who puts such people in check. He noted that people who condone such rubbish behavior are what give other people the balls to be the actual pricks that they are.
Though Jim Iyke keeps his relationships private, the actor has been married twice and he has 3 kids.
In 2022, Iyke had for the first time revealed that he had been married twice but they failed, adding that he now has three kids. He revealed that he is always strategic and very unpredictable and that is why the media and no one know about his marriage, when it failed and his three kids.
Last year, he won the praises of many when he took accountability for his failed marriage. He blamed his crashed marriage on the death of his mother, which affected him emotionally and led to a change of behaviour, which made him detach from his wives.
