Jennifer Awele, the wife of late Nollywood actor Junior Pope, has lost her father-in-law, Ozor Luke Odonwodo.
The mother of three posted the sad news on her Instagram page on Wednesday as she bid farewell to her father-in-law. She recalled how last month, she was with him in Enugu and now mourning him.
She revealed that when her mother-in-law broke the news to her, she screamed but had to quickly pull herself together as she broke down in tears. Jennifer described her late father-in-law as a man who genuinely loved her, and she expressed how thankful she was that she spent time with him.
The mother of boys bade him and her late husband farewell as she expressed how much she would miss him.
“Barely One Month Ago, I Was With You In Enugu. Some days later, Reme (My Mother In Love) called, asked how I and her boys are doing and further went on to say that her husband has gone to meet my husband.

Ozor Luke Odonwodo Is One Man That Genuinely Loved Me. And I’m So Thankful I Got To Spend Time With Him, Even Though it was Short, Unknowingly In His Last Days. He passed, an octogenarian who lived a good life, paid his dues, sacrificed a lot for his family and loved ones, and happily reaped the fruits of his labour.

Refreshing your memory, Junior Pope and others lost their lives after drowning at Anam River in Anambra State while returning from a movie set produced by Adanma Luke on April 8th. Luke had received tons of backlash for not providing the actors with safety procedures, which led to their deaths.
On April 10th, 2025, Jennifer celebrated his one-year remembrance. She noted that it’s been a year of standing in the face of unimaginable loss, and not a day has gone by without a thought of him. She said her late husband had no idea how tough it had been trying to stay strong for each other as the world around them fell apart.
Early this month, Jennifer celebrated late Junior Pope’s 45th posthumous birthday. Sharing a clip of the late actor and his family, she expressed sadness at not being able to celebrate him anymore with her different surprises and now, celebrating him with tears and memories.
