“I don’t think I am someone people can talk to anyhow” Laycon speaks on bullying in the entertainment industry (Video)

Laycon on Cyber bullying

Big Brother Naija ‘Lockdown’ winner and upcoming singer, Olamilekan Massaoud Al-Khalifah better known as Laycon has spoken about bullying in the entertainment industry.

The rapper and singer, in an interview with Punch Newspaper, stated that he doesn’t consider himself one that can be talked to anyhow, because he doesn’t move that way.

He noted how he has a lot of people around him who love him and care for him and the energy they give out is positive.

According to him, he can’t be in a negative space and always takes himself out of situations or conversations that would put him in that space.

Laycon, however, made it known that he hasn’t experienced bullying from his colleagues in the industry, but it doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

He stated that the only bullying he has experienced is from online trolls.

“I don’t think I am someone people can talk to anyhow because I don’t move that way. Naturally, I have a lot of people around me who love me and care for me. The energy we give out is always positive. I can’t be in that space, I take myself out of situations or conversations that would put me in that space.

The bullying I can talk about is from online trolls, I can’t talk about industry bullying because I haven’t experienced it. The bullying I have experienced isn’t the physical bullying but more of the online trolls”.

The death of Nigerian rapper, Mohbad has led many to become aware of the level of bullying and godfatherism in the industry as videos of the late singer being maltreated by his former label crew, Marlians surface online.

Recall that actor, Nosa Rex otherwise known as Baba Rex, had given his two cents on his death, opining that nothing will change in the entertainment industry until cultism is removed.

Admonishing the public to stay away from cultism, he noted how entertainment requires one’s talent and not color.

According to him, as one progresses in life, he or shë will realize that the people who will help them in life aren’t even from their confra mate.

Also, Yoruba actress, Wumi Toriola while speaking on the detriment of godfatherism in the entertainment industry, noted how any deadly mistakes can lead to the death of anyone who has a godfather or godmother.

She further noted how such people block intending helpers for their godsons/daughters, cancel their opportunities, breed more hate for them, and lots more.
