Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mary Njoku has shared her struggles with parenting.
The wife of Iroko TV boss, in an Instagram post, revealed that one minute, she feels she is nailing parenting, and the next, she wonders how they got there.
The mother of three described parenting as a real jungle as she noted how one has to expect the unexpected. Mary further stated that the love a mother has for her child has to be agape as she lamented over how her kids are testing her patience.
“One minute it feels like I’m nailing this parenting, and the next, I’m wondering, “How did we get here?”. Parenting is a real jungle!
Expect the unexpected.
Hmmm. The love a mother has for a child has to be agape o! Cos dem dey test me o!”.

A week back, Mary had sent a message to Nigerian religious women, noting how there was nothing wrong with IVF. She admonished religious women to feel free to include IVF in their testimonies so that God can use them to inspire and bless other families as well.
In a follow-up post, she slammed those who are fond of saying IVF failed them but God gave them a miracle. Calling such a statement absurd, she noted how IVF is a miracle and so is a C-section. She told them to stop using religion to discourage others from receiving their blessings.
Early this year, Njoku avowed that a mother shouldn’t be compelled to have a different name from her underaged kids, except she is allowed to change their names too. She noted how one cannot build a name for many years and be asked to change it because someone doesn’t want a divorce.
Last year, Mary advised men on the importance of mothers to their children, as she noted how many men want their children to be brilliant, yet they treat their wives as a lamb. The filmmaker pointed out how a fowl can’t raise a tiger, indirectly telling men that a gentle wife and mother can’t raise kids to be like tigers.
