May Edochie, the estranged wife of Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, has revealed why she rejected so many mouth-watering movie roles in Nollywood.
In an interview with comedian Ayo Makun, she recounted how Omoni Oboli had pleaded with her to accept her movie offer. May revealed how she has been turning down several movie roles for the past 3 years. She noted how she has gotten scripts, movie roles, and people willing to pay mouthwatering amounts to feature her in their movies, yet she rejected them all.
May stated that she told them she doesn’t want to be an actor even though she is a jack of all trades and can do anything if she sets her mind on it.
“Omoni said she doesn’t know how I am going to do it, I can’t tell her No. I told her that for the past 3 years, I had gotten script and movie r,oles, and people were willing to pay mouthwatering amounts. You know, producers have been calling, directors have been calling, some familiar faces have called, and I have rejected everything. I said I didn’t want to be an actor or actress. I know that I am this kind of jack of all trades, master of all kinds, type of person. There are a whole lot of things I can do if I set my mind on it”.
Elsewhere in the interview, May had corrected some misconceptions about her personal life. The mother of four made it known that she isn’t advocating for divorce or separation, as she noted how some men think she is misleading their wife following her crashed marriage to Yul, but that’s untrue as she is a big advocate of marriage.
May stated that she loves family and marriage and she sees it as the basis for family. She noted how, without family, she, as well as many others, wouldn’t be alive.
Recall that Yul married his colleague, Judy, which led to his crashed marriage with May Edochie. Following his second marriage, May filed for divorce from him, and had also filed a restraining order denying him access to their former marital home and gotten full custody of the kids.
May Edochie is no doubt proof that a woman can still keep winning after a divorce, as she found favor in the eyes of celebrities, Nigerians, and social media users.
May since her separation from Yul, launched her own business, bagged endorsement deals, bagged awards, and even made her acting debut.
