Joseph Aloba, the father of late singer, Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba better known as Mohbad, has taken to his social media page to mark his first post-humous birthday.
Taking to her Instagram page, Joseph Aloba expressed how saddened he is to celebrate his son while he is still not alive. He described today as a very sad day, which he would never forget.
The prophet noted how he used to celebrate his son’s birthday every year, but unfortunately, he can’t celebrate his birthday anymore.
“Today is a very sad day for me, a day I can never forget. I usually celebrate it every year but I can’t anymore this year. (Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Mohbad Oba Imole keep resting son)”.
In another post, Joseph Aloba expressed love for his son but noted how God loves him more.
“Happy heavenly birthday my son I love you but God loves you more”.
In celebration of his birthday, many took to social media to celebrate the late singer, pouring out tributes to him.
Refreshing your memory, Mohbad a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label, tragically passed away at 27 under unclear circumstances on September 12. Following his death, videos made rounds of him being bullied by his former boss and his members. The Nigeria Police are still trying to unravel the mystery behind his death.
Last year, following his son’s death, Joseph Aloba had cried out to God, in an emotional song, noting how the world is against him and is using his son to fight him.
He voiced out his heartbreak over how the world is making him cry through the child his creator gave him, adding that they hurt the singer when he was alive and still wanted to eat his dead body.
Calling on his creator, he told Him to help him as he is human and powerless.
Mohbad’s father first lost the admiration of many when he defended Naira Marley for bullying his son.
His father stated that Naira Marley was only trying to correct him, but his son didn’t listen to him and went on to praise the singer who he described as a good person.
The video left many questioning if he was the biological father of the late singer as they expressed disgust at his revelation.
He had also angered many with his quick burial of his son, as the singer was buried the next day after his death.
In an interview, he explained the reason behind his son’s quick burial, blaming it on tradition.
Mr Aloba also addressed the complaints about the location Mohbad was buried in, which was beside a cassava farm, stating that it was the only land he knew that belonged to the singer.
To worsen things, he had accused his son’s widow wife, of being unfaithful and even putting sleeping pills in his noodles.
He claimed that Wunmi was sleeping with one of the singer’s signees and revealed the major reason why he doesn’t trust her.
