Omowunmi, the wife of the late singer, Mohbad has posed a question to Nigerians as she cried out for help.
The mother of one, in a series of posts on her Instagram story and a live session, questioned if Nigerians were going to allow what happened to Mohbad, to happen to her and her son.
She stated that she and her son are at Nigerians’ mercy as she claimed her life is been threatened daily and has been robbed of her freedom. Calling for help, she stated that she is determined to seek justice for her husband and has refused to remain silent until the truth is revealed and accountability is served.
However, her life and her son are under severe threat and their freedom has been stripped away. She implored the Nigerian Police Force to intervene swiftly and decisively to ensure their safety and to conduct a thorough investigation into her husband’s death.
Additionally, she is appealing to the compassionate hearts of Nigerians to rally around her and her son in solidarity and support as the weight of these threats is suffocating her.
Speaking on her father-in-law, she said Mohbad’s father was the one who pressured her to have a child for his son as she recounted their sweet times. She questioned why her father-in-law is now trying to defame her son and further questioned if his grandson would be pleased to know of his behavior.
“I know they will not let me talk! They said I am not talking. Now that I am, they are flagging me.
Nigerians I and Liam are at your mercy! Are you going to allow what happened to Ileriouluwa to happen to us? They are threatening us daily! They have taken our freedom from us! Nigerians help us.
Myself, my husband and my father-in-law for 7 days, he would always wake us up by 6 am every morning to ask if I had any dreams and pray for me, this man was literally my best friend. Baba gave me and my husband fruit and water to make a prayer from the first of July till the seventh, I got to know I was pregnant 5th of August the same year, and my father-in-law was so ecstatic over the news of my pregnancy. Why is he trying to defame the treasure his son left behind? Do you think Liam would ever call you his grandfather after justice has been served and DNA has been done? Go and get the court order cos it’s time I put my enemies to shame!!
I am determined to seek justice for the suspicious circumstances surrounding my husband’s demise and I refuse to remain silent until the truth is revealed and accountability is served. However, my very life, as well as that of my son, is under severe threat, and our freedom has been stripped away.
I implore the Nigerian Police Force to intervene swiftly and decisively to ensure our safety and to conduct a thorough investigation into my husband’s death. Additionally, I humbly appeal to the compassionate hearts of my fellow Nigerians to rally around us in solidarity and support. During the Coroner’s Inquest last year, Omowunmi spoke out on her late husband’s ordeal with his former label boss, Naira Marley, and how she met the embattled singer.
According to her, things took a downward spiral when Mohbad asked for a change in manager and ended up receiving threats from them, which made him unstable, and he left with zero money in his account.
She further disclosed that her husband had begun experiencing discomfort after receiving an injection administered by a nurse, which led to him vomiting.
Also, Omowunmi opened up on the cause of her rift with the singer’s father, revealing that Mohbad’s father thought she was the mastermind behind the singer’s change of heart towards him. She disclosed that she and her father-in-law were extremely close until she birth to her son, Liam and things turned sour between the two.
Omowunmi claimed that Mohbad’s father had asked for their son’s placenta and Mohbad had refused, hence, his hatred for her, as he believes she is the strong force behind him.
