In preparation for her birthday which is in a few days time, Omowunmi, the widow of late singer, Mohbad has made a special request to Nigerians.
Taking to her Instagram story, she urged Nigerians to celebrate her husband on her birthday, rather than her. She noted how this is the first time in many years, she will be celebrating her birthday without him.
Omowunmi described Mohbad as not only her husband but her bestfriend, confidant, gist partner and more. She disclosed that the best birthday gift he gave her before his death was their son, Liam.
Begging his fans, she told them to celebrate the life the singer lived and to pray for his spirit.
“This is the first time in many years that I’ll be celebrating my birthday without my husband promise! He was not just my husband, but also my best friend, confidant, gist partner and more. Today, all I want for my birthday is for his fans across the world to celebrate the life he lived.
I beg you all to say a prayer for the spirit of Ileriouluwa! Whether you choose to pray silently in your heart or post his picture on your profile. I ask that you sincerely pray for the soul of Ileriouluwa.
Let this day be dedicated to him, rather than to me. Because he has given me the best birthday gift before he was snatched from me! He gave me the gift of himself through our son, Liam. A child that I will love and cherish till the end of time.

Months back, Wunmi, in an Instagram post, revealed information about his death, claiming that she had been prevented from speaking by bullies in the music industry over the singer’s death.
The mother of one expressed how helpless she is, as she further claimed that the bullies have been targeting her by releasing a voice note she recorded some years back.
In another post, she had cried out for help, questioning if Nigerians were going to allow what happened to Mohbad, happen to her and her son.
She claimed her life and that of her son was being threatened and that they have been robbed of their freedom.
Recently, the mother of one had been served the court order for a DNA test after the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu granted the order.
Mohbad’s father legal team told the court that they had attempted twice to serve Wunmi the court process but failed and the Chief Magistrate then ordered that Wunmi should be served by posting the court process on her last known address, which they did by pasting it on her house gate.
