More woes for Naira Marley as Splash FM and other radio stations ban his songs

Splash FM bans Naira Marley

More woes are befalling Nigerian street singer, Naira Marley and his record label, Marlian as radio stations have taken a move against him.

Splash FM has banned the singer and his label’s music from all its stations and has urged all stations to follow suit.

“In view of the sensitive nature around the death of Mohbad, and the criminal procedure the police has commenced, I will urge us all to exercise discretion.

To this effect, Naira Marley’s songs have become NTBB (Not To Be Broadcasted) on our stations until further notice”.

Joining Splash FM, Oriyomi Hamzat of Agidigbo FM has banned all songs of Naira Marley from their radio station.

The news has been met with positive reviews as many applauded the radio stations for taking bold steps against the singer.

Since the controversial videos and speculations of Mohbad death began to spread on social media, Naira Marley has faced a significant decline in his follower count on social media.

The decline in Naira Marley’s follower count has been noticeable, as it had dropped from 7.4 million to 7 million and still counting. Many celebrities like Funke Akindele, Don Jazzy, Joeboy, and others have unfollowed him on Instagram.

A petition was also been launched to ban Naira Marley’s music label, Marlian, which has garnered over 70,000 signatures.
