Top Nollywood actress, Mosun Filani Oduoye is back to the movie industry after years of being off-screen.
The wife and mother announced on her Instagram page hours ago that she has returned to Nollywood and is back and ready.
Urging script writers producers and directors to send script, she noted how there is time and season for everything.
“There is time and season for everything in life.
Am back and ready. Send ur script! We moove!”
Mosun Filani quits Nollywood
Recall that Mosun quit acting after she married her husband, Kayode Oduoye, a politician and son of late Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Simeon Oduoye.
As the wife of a politician, she was required to project a certain lifestyle and acting wasn’t part of it.
More so, as her husband’s plan to represent Ifelodun, Boripe and Odun-Otin Federal Constituency of Osun State in the House of Representatives was already in motion in 2015. Besides, the realisation that she might need to relocate to Abuja with her husband put paid to any ambition she was nursing in respect of her acting career.
Unfortunately, Mosun’s husband lost at the polls. Not long afterwards, Sir Kay as he is fondly called, decided to test the waters again by signifying his interest to govern Osun State in 2018 on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party. This time, Mosun already imagined herself as the first lady of the state and was preparing to play that role. Once again, her dream did not come true. So she decided to concentrate on her beauty business and caring for her family.
Mosun Filani speaks out on quitting Nollywood
Speaking out, Mosun Filani revealed that she took a break from Nollywood to focus on her family and children.
Her words;
“I took some time off movies; there is a time and season for everything, (I did it) to focus on my family. My children are still young and I don’t want to leave them in the hands of a maid. My husband is a very busy person because of his career. There is a need for someone to take care of the home front.
“When they (my children) are of age and can take care of themselves, then I am good to go. Acting takes me away from home, sometimes I have to travel.
It is really demanding. I am not an extrovert. When I am not on set, I am an introvert. I don’t like going out, I’m always indoors” .
