It is a trying time for fans, lovers, and families of ailing actor, John Okafor better known as Mr Ibu as he gets amputated again.
The veteran actor has had his leg amputated again after undergoing another surgery. According to Vanguard, part of the same leg that was initially amputated has been cut off.
Reports have it that his health is deteriorating and it has gotten to the stage that he hardly talks again.
Dr. Emeka Rollas, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, also gave an update on his health status, revealing that he, as well as others, have resigned to fate concerning Mr Ibu and Amaechi Muonagor, who is also battling an ailment.
He confirmed that the actor has undergone another leg amputation and can barely speak.
“We are resigning to fate concerning the two actors. As I speak with you, Mr Ibu hardly talks again and he has undergone another leg amputation.
“You will shed tears if you see Amaechi Muonagor now, his legs are completely paralyzed. I’m calling on all fans and well-wishers of the actor to join hands with other philanthropic Nigerians to support him in this dire time.”
Kemi Filani reported in October that Mr Ibu, who is currently hospitalized, had cried out to the public for help as he battles an ailment that could get him amputated.
Nigerian music sensations Davido and P-Square, along with the popular personality Tunde Ednut, had offered to cover the medical expenses of the legendary actor.
Former senate president, Bukola Saraki had cleared off his medical bills through his foundation.
The actor underwent 5 surgeries which were all successful, and had appreciation post to the public, stating that he is still recovering in the ICU, and is waiting to get stabilized so he can fly abroad for further advanced treatment.
Last month, Jasmine revealed that one of his legs had to be cut to increase his chances of recovery, and he has undergone 7 successful surgeries.
According to her, this development had been very hard on them but they had to accept his new reality.
In the midst of his health battle, there was chaos in his home as the family publicly battled over his donation.
According to Gistlover, his wife wanted to take over the donation money to fund her lavish lifestyle as she is always talking about buying an iPhone 15 and new cars.
The blog also claimed that Mr Ibu’s wife had used her account to get N1 million from the donation.
Reacting to it, Stella Maris alleged that Jasmine was trying to make her an outsider in her marriage. Describing her statement as malicious, she vowed to address Jasmine’s excessive interference in her family affairs and other related matters.
Refuting her claims, Mr Ibu’s son, Daniel revealed that he is the one in charge of the actor’s account. According to him, he is the signatory to the account and his next of kin.
He stated that there was no truth in Stella Maris’ allegations as Jasmine didn’t have access to his account.
