Nigerian comedian and skitmaker, Mr Macaroni has sent a message to music star, Davido over a viral video of his aide assaulting his fans.
In the viral clips, Davido’s aide, Lati had assaulted two fans who wanted to make a video with him. In the first video, Lati punched a fan for taking pictures with the singer at an event. The overzealous male fan who was star-struck after seeing Davido tried to move closer to the singer only for Lati to punch his face.
In another video, Lati landed a heavy slap on another male fan who tried to reach Davido’s side.
Reacting to it, Mr Macaroni expressed how saddening he was seeing the video as he described it as condemnable and dehumanizing.
Speaking against it, he stated that he knows what it feels like and there was no need for his aide to assault a fan.
Mr Macaroni added that the change Nigerians need must begin with us.
“This is sad and highly condemnable!!! There is absolutely no need for this assault. This is dehumanizing and I speak against it because I know exactly how this feels.
The change that we all seek must begin with us!!!”.
In another tweet, he admonished fans to respect the privacy of celebrities as he noted how respect is reciprocal. He appealed to them to seek permission before taking photos with them, to avoid being seen as a threat.
In a message to celebrities, he told them to treat their fans with respect and dignity.
“Please, if you must take pictures with any of your favorite celebrities, kindly seek permission so that you are not seen as a threat. Respect is reciprocal.
We must respect the privacy of our celebrities and Celebrities must also learn to treat our fans with respect and dignity”.
Last year, during Mohbad’s Candlelight ceremony, Davido made headlines after he was captured knocking a fan’s phone as he attempted to capture the singer.
Also during his Timeless Concert, Davido was on alert mode after a fan of his stormed the stage to meet him.
Davido, who was on alert mode, was ready to punch the fan, but for the timely intervention of security who threw the fan off stage.
We wonder how Davido would receive this criticism from Mr Macaroni as the two are close.
In an interview, Davido spilled some tea about his family’s relationship with Mr Macaroni, revealing that his late mother bought Mr Macaroni his first phone.
Davido was no doubt saying the truth as Mr. Macaroni had once admitted to it, saying that Deji Adeleke, Davido’s father, bought him his first laptop ever.
He made this known as he expressed pride in the singer’s father and poured praises on him.
