Nollywood actor Muyiwa Ademola has appealed to Nigerians ahead of his Cinema debut.
The actor, who announced two years back that he was working on a sequel to his hit movie, Ori, is set to debut the movie in Cinemas in April.
In an interview, Muyiwa revealed that he spent over N400 million on the project and appealed to Nigerians to support him. He said he needs to make his money back and also make profits.
“I have spent millions, like over N400 million, investing in my new movie. You will love it and enjoy it. I need to make back my money. I need to make money, I need profit.
If you watched the first Ori and didn’t enjoy it, don’t watch this one. “
Similarly, when his colleague, Femi Adebayo released his first movie, Jagun Jagun, he revealed in an interview with the press, that he sold his properties to fund the movie, which is a multi-billion project, because he didn’t want to seek help from financial institutions and individuals. Elsewhere in the interview, he revealed his worst nightmare and its inspiration.
Kemi Filani reported in 2023 that the talented Yoruba actor had made a huge announcement about his epic hit movie, Ori, which was released 20 years ago. In an online video, the veteran actor noted that his masterpiece was set for a new version titled “Ori Reloaded”. Ademola urged everyone to anticipate his new movie, which will be a philosophical adventure like the first installment in 2003.
His colleague, Rukayat Lawal, better known as Iyabadan Sneh, expressed gratitude to him for giving her a rare privilege in his movie. She went on to call the married actor her lover of all time.
Sometime back, Ademola took his fans down memory lane, as he reflected on his humble beginnings and reminisced on his growing-up days. Muyiwa recounted how he grew up in a slum with no electricity, had to sleep on a mattress throughout high school, and never celebrated his birthdays till he turned 25, and much more.
Last year, while celebrating his birthday, Muyiwa prayed for more inspiration, wisdom and creativity to give to the movie industry and, most importantly, more money.
