Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley has appealed to his millions of fans to refrain from substance abuse.
The singer visited the NDLEA headquarters today, August 17, and met with the Chairman, Buba Marwa, where he declared his support for the war against substance abuse.
Appealing to his millions of fans popularly known as Marlians, Naira Marley urged them to desist from drug and substance abuse.
He pleaded with them to join the agency in combatting drug abuse in the country.
“I will love to urge my fans, The Marlians, and Nigeria Youths to stop doing drugs cause it’s not good for your well-being. Let’s stop substance abuse in any form. I key into this campaign to support NDLEA in stopping drugs on the street. Please join us”.
Naira Marley accused of drug abuse
Recall that months back, Naira Marley was accused of being a drug traffic Lord.
Popular Instagram gossip blogger, Gist Lovers, accused the singer of being a drug pusher kingpin and alleged that the singer was using his record label signees to push drugs.
Naira Marley, however, debunked the claims, stating that though he smokes weed he doesn’t do drugs.
Naira Marley calls for the release of Zinoleesky, Shubomi, and others
Last year, Naira Marley’s signees, Zinoleesky and Mohbad, were arrested by operatives of NDLEA for possession of molly and cannabis.
Confirming their arrest, an officer of the NDLEA Femi Babafemi, while speaking with Newsmen, said Zinoleesky and Mohbad were arrested based on reliable information.
Naira Marley, who wasn’t in the country during the arrest, had cut his trip short following their arrest.
The Marlian president who clearly does not play with his musical acts took the next available flight to Nigeria to fight for his artists.
Naira Marley, also in a series of tweets lamented over the level of injustice done by the operatives to his label crew.
He noted how he was once harassed by the officials and how the same maltreatment meted on him was given to his associates.
