Teslim and Ifunanya have both been evicted from the ongoing ‘The Voice Nigeria” competition.
This comes after the 6 members of Team Waje, had their knockout sections last night.
Team Waje was made up of six members – Nuel Ayo, Anu, Elizabeth and Inioluwa, Ifunanya and Teslim, but only four of them made it to the next stage (The battle field).
First up was Teslim who performed “Runaway’ by Style plus. Waje sent him to the danger zone. Then 21-year-old Ifunanya gave a sensual rendition of Seyi Sey’s “Right Now”, but unfortunately, Waje also sent her to the Danger zone.
Nuel Ayo’s rendition of R Kelly’s “When a man loves a woman” gave him a direct spot in the battle field as Waje sent him through.
Elizabeth performed “California king bed” by Rihanna, but she was sent to the danger zone by Waje.
Inioluwa performed ‘Fire on the mountain” by Asa and Anu performed “God is a woman” by Ariana Grande.
Waje Chose Inioluwa to proceed to the battle field while Yemi Alade stole Anu, leaving Teslim, Elizabeth and Ifunanya in the danger zone. Waje then chose Elizabeth as her third contestant to proceed to the battle field.
Ifunanya and Teslim were sent home.
However, after the episode was aired, Nigerians took to social media to express their anger after Waje picked Elizabeth over Teslim.
One Master Tef expressed confusion as to how Waje made her decision. He wrote, “I don’t know how Teslim wasn’t sent to the battles. That guy is a star in the making.”
Cancelling off Waje, one Nicrole Paragon wrote, “No teslim, no team waje ,no me as a fan, indeed the decision to disqualify teslim is quiet unbelievable his voice is so melodious,calm and emotional……. I can’t wait to see team Darey ,..wow”
Blaming Teslim for his ordeal, One Gideon wrote, “The mistake teslim made was choosing waje as his coach ….he would have gone far with falz as his coach”
Crying bitterly, one Grace Olaosun wrote, “How did she let Teslim go **Cry Emoji**…dude himself is music”
Opeyemi olajide wrote, “Teslim is such a talented singer. He sings with so much ease and to think that he sang that song so well is superb.”
A Francis Samuel wrote, “I keep going back to Teslim’s performance. I can’t believe she didn’t pick him. Let’s see what Dare has on his file.”
Akeju Omolola Wrote, “Coaches be using scope to send their contestants to the danger zone “because you’re the first bla bla..” Anty, send me there with your full chest. I know it’s a hard job to do at that moment but if it was someone she likes well and was sure of even before performance, she wouldn’t say that. Anyways, good luck to teslim. Dude sings well”
Expressing sadness for Teslim, one Victor Onagwa wrote, “Teslim performed Runaway by style plus on a different note and totally killed it. He is a natural and I feel kinda sad that his journey on the show ends here. I hope to see him rise to stardom”
