Some netizens have slammed Media personality and former OAP Daddy Freeze for bragging over the cost of his watches amid his N5million adultery fine.
Kemi Filani reported in 2021 that a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, had ordered Daddy Freeze to pay N5m for committing adultery with Benedicta Elechi. He was ordered to pay the money to Paul Odekina, who was married to Elechi at the time the adulterous act was committed.
Daddy Freeze, who wasn’t pleased with the court judgement, had approached the appellate court for redress. His main grounds of appeal were that Odekina didn’t attempt to serve him personally before applying for substituted service, which violated Order 7 Rule 2 of the Rules of the Trial Court.
After 3 years of back and forth, in the Certified True Copy of the judgment, dated June 26, 2024, and obtained by our correspondent on Friday, the three-person panel of Justice Abubakar Talba, Danlami Senchi, and Hannatu Balogun dismissed Daddy Freeze’s appeal for lack of merit. The court ruled that if the appellant wanted to overturn the trial court’s judgment due to non-service, he should have filed a counter-affidavit against the affidavit of service and then sought to set aside the trial court’s judgment.
Reacting to it in an Instagram live video, Daddy Freeze stated that he had no problem paying an N5million fine as his watches alone cost over N100million. He, however, made it known that he is innocent and will not lose. He claimed that the incident happened years ago when he was going through serious torment, and so was the lady, and they both linked up years later in Church.
His statement didn’t sit well with many, who condemned his action and slammed him for bragging.

Recall that the former Cool FM OAP was married to Opeyemi, who has two children for him. The couple broke up in 2014 and laid allegations against each other for committing adultery and domestic violence.
Daddy Freeze moved on from her and got remarried to divorce Benedicta Elechi, who has a son for him. The lovebirds secretly got married in the UK in 2022, with family and close friends of the couple attended.
Speaking on his divorce, Daddy Freeze believes that it is a success in disguise as he was able to divorce himself from toxicity.
