Nigerians have dragged Burna Boy after he took to Twitter to claim to be the best since the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Anikulapo Kuti.
Recall that the singer once announced that he would be handing off his social media accounts because of the way his statements usually get attacked.
Well, with a successful African Giant album and a Grammy nomination, Burna Boy feels it’s high time he returns to the world of banters and trolls called social media.
He tweeted: “FACT! I always knew I was and I am THE BEST. Everyone you think is the best KNOWS I’m BEST since Fela Kuti. But @timayatimaya told me something a long time ago that made me not care about being the best. “The World can do without the Best” the world will still spin regardless”.
His words didn’t land before they were met with harsh criticisms from Nigerians, many of whom wondered where he was for over a decade when certain artistes held sway.
They also questioned why he hasn’t sold out top arenas abroad like Wizkid and Davido. See the screenshots below.
