Veteran Nollywood actor Nkem Owoh, better known as Osuofia, is excitedly counting down to his 70th birthday on February 7th.
Taking to his Instagram page, the veteran shared a video of him wishing his fans a happy new month with good health and God’s grace.
He revealed to them that he would be turning 79 years old on February 7th and it’s a big milestone for me. The actor expressed how excited he was for his special day.

I’m excited to share with you all that I’ll be turning 70 years old on February 7th. It’s a big milestone, and I can’t wait to celebrate this special day with friends and family”.

It is great to see the actor in good news following the unfortunate incident that happened to his family two years back.
Kemi Filani reported that the veteran lost his daughter on June 28, 2023, after battling liver cancer. She was buried on August 24th at her father’s hometown in Enugu State.
Speaking out, Nkem expressed gratitude to all for the love and support they showed him and his family. He stated that when tragedy strikes, there’s nothing more heartening than knowing that you’re not alone. The veteran added that his daughter’s death was a change that he didn’t anticipate, and he was feeling an acute sense of loss.

In different news, media personality, Daddy Freeze had tackled Nkem Owoh over his statement on Nollywood movies. Nkem commended the efforts of Nollywood practitioners in making our movies highly competitive with foreign movies.
Disagreeing with him, Daddy Freeze stated that his opinion was untrue as Nollywood is still way behind. Though he agrees that our music is on par with global standards, our movies are still mediocre. Urging the veteran to tell the truth, he opined that Nkem Owoh’s thoughts are a representation of an idealized vacuum.
