Nollywood actor and close friend of Junior Pope, Nosa Rex otherwise known as Baba Rex is celebrating his late colleague on his first posthumous birthday today.
Taking to his Instagram page to share a photo of the deceased celebrant, he noted how today would have been his birthday and they would have been celebrating. However, since he hasn’t been laid to rest, he is wishing him a happy birthday.
“Normally we suppose dey celebrate you today. Baba since you never rest, Happy birthday”.
Also celebrating his posthumous birthday is Rita Edochie who penned a lengthy note to him, noting how she can no longer celebrate his birthday with him physically. She stated that her heart is once more feeling shattered and she is trying to make herself believe that he is no more. Throwing some questions at him, she made it known that she takes solace in knowing that he is watching over them.
It is no longer news that the actor died three weeks back after drowning at Anam River while returning from a movie shoot. The beloved actor alongside 5 others, died from the boat mishap.
Last week, the family of the late actor had released his funeral arrangements, where he would be laid to rest on May 17th, 2024, in his hometown in Enugu state.
Many eagle-eyed fans noticed that on the obituary poster, ‘husband’, was noticeably absent which left tongues wagging as before his demise, Junior Pope was married to Jennifer Awele and they have 3 sons.
Speaking out, his family made it known that the burial poster wasn’t authorized by them and had later corrected it to include his wife.
His death has since left many of his colleagues heartbroken as they flooded their timelines mourning him.
Destiny Etiko lamented over how she couldn’t make up for the lost time and made a vow to him. Nigerian billionaire businessman, E-Money had pledged to nurture the late actor’s children as he recalled the actor’s last word on the boat.
Regina Daniels shared a collage of videos of the actor, stating that the late actor’s nugget comfort would be that he left a world filled with love and support for the ones closest to his heart.
Veteran actress, Rita Edochie refused to celebrate her birthday this year as she dedicated it in memory of Junior Pope. She noted how the late actor never missed her birthdays.
Alex Ekubo had written a heartfelt note, revealing that the tragedy of the boat accident had left him in shock as he noted how the day of Junior Pope’s death coincidence with his birthday.
