Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Omoni Oboli has promised to go all out for her best friend and male colleague, Alex Ekubo on his wedding day.
The actor, who had a messy failed engagement to American model, Fancy Acholonu had lamented over his soured relationship.
Omoni Oboli had taken to her Instagram page to query her friends, Uche Jombo, Ufuoma McDermott, Chioma Akpotha, and others for not getting pregnant, having engagements, or weddings.
Tagging them as useless, she questioned why they can’t get pregnant.
“My friends are useless. No pregnancies, no engagements, no weddings…gosh nothing.
So Uche, Ufuoma, Tara, Owen, and all. of you, that call yourselves my friends…nobody fit even just carry belle?”.
Commenting under her post, Alex Ekubo, who is also one of her friends noted how he had a messy failed engagement.
Carpeting Omoni, he mentioned how he went through a messy divorce.
“Bestie, but I went through a messy divorce”.
Soothing him, Omoni Oboli told him to find new lover as she promised to support him heavily.
She stated that they would go all the way for him, plan his wedding and ATTEND it.
“You are a mess!!! Oya e don do! Find another person let’s do engagement o! This time, we go all the way!! We must plan your wedding and ATTEND it!”.
Alex Ekubo and Fancy Acholonu’s social media drama
Kemi Filani reported that Fancy Acholonu had publicly apologized to ex-fiancee, Alex Ekubo earlier this year after she embarrassed him in 2021 by calling off their wedding on social media and asking him to “live his truth” which had many insinuating that he is gay.
Interestingly, days after she made the public apology, she claimed that Alex forced her to put the apology post to save his face. She was upset that he didn’t live up to his end of the bargain after tendering the apology.
Hell-bent on exposing him, Fancy Acholonu further revealed that in their 5 years of relationship, he never touched her.
It got messier when an audio recording of Alex and his Fancy in a heated conversation surfaced online.
In the audio recording, Alex Ekubo clearly told his estranged fiance that he wouldn’t be posting anything on his page, in reference to her apology. However, he would acknowledge her post and leave a comment under it. Read more here.
