Omotola Ekeinde reveals the easiest way to trend as she advises the public

Omotola Ekeinde speaks on trend and clout

Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade has shared an important message to the public about clout chasing.

In a series of posts on her Instagram story, she revealed that the easiest way to trend is for one to insult a public figure, say something out of the norm, or go nude.

Noting how attention is the new currency, she questioned to what extent people can go to trend. The mother of four wondered if they could trade their values, morals, conscience, mind, and self-control for clout.

She admonished them to stay still before becoming slaves to the algorithm.

“Do you know, it’s very easy to trend.
Very very easy.

For starters, just say or do something out of the norm. Insult someone important or go nude. So easy, so desperate, so cheap

In today’s world, where attention is the new currency, what are you willing to trade for it?

Your values? Your morale? Your conscience? Your mind? Your self-control?
Just think aloud. Lol

Oh, you are waiting for me to tell you something magical? Lol. Common you know what you’re doing, enjoy!
You know what they say.
Whatever you sow..
The other route?
Hard and sometimes longer. But hey, check out the lasting result.

Stop! Before becoming slaves to the algorithm. Think again”.

Last week, Omotola encouraged young ladies as she enlightened them about the different phases of life. She admonished them to start working on themselves, find things that keep them moving, and do them. She told them to turn off social media and surround themselves with things that give them hope and joy.

In a similar post, IK Ogbonna had spoken about today’s fame culture. He noted how clout has become the new currency, and many people are desperate to spend it. Ogbonna said that, unknowingly to them, not all fake is created equal, and forced fame might get one quick recognition and momentary, but it wouldn’t last.

A few weeks back, Mary Njoku had sent a wake-up call to social media users. She revealed that she misses the days when people would confront others when they mess up and have team conversations with them. She noted how what people do these days is to become keyboard warriors and seek sympathy and temporary fame on social media instead of facing issues head-on.

Comedian Ayo Makun shared a deep message on the detriment of social media, noting how a foolish person gets praised when he says something the audience likes, but a wise man gets persecuted when he says something contrary. Speaking on the funny part of social media, he stated that people carry their ignorance with a lot of class and confidence.
