Nollywood actress Omotola Ekeinde has spoken out on being referred to as an disaporian.
Taking to her Instagram page to share a video of her speaking at an event, she noted how life is a big circle. Omotola noted how many years back, she was invited by Nigerians in the Diaspora to an event, and she argued that she isn’t a diasporan.
Fast forward to how she was asked to speak at an event on entering Nigeria as a diasporan, and she never thoughtshe had been referred to as one. Omotola stated that everything that will happen to one has already been introduced.

Many years ago, I was invited by Nigerians in Diaspora Atl for their yearly event and talks to become their Ambassador. I remember arguing that I’m not a Diasporian and so that was awkward.
Fast forward years later, in 2024, my dear Aunty @abikedabiri sent me a letter to Speak at an event on entering Nigeria. A Diasporian!
Diasporian? I never thought I’d ever be referred to as one. Everything that’ll happen to you has already been introduced to you, been happening to you or you have been prepared for it. @nidcom”.
In 2022, Omotola confirmed her relocation to the US with her family.
The veteran actress, in an Instagram post, spoke out on how living overseas changed her. She revealed that spending two years in the US had made her see many things Nigerians managed and let slide. Omotola expressed how frustrated she was at the needless suffering Nigerians go through.
Sending messages to the average Nigerians, she made them know that suffering isn’t a lesson to brag about as it is evil. Omotola questioned why people must suffer to get anything done.
In another Instagram video, the mother of four recounted her exciting Abattoir experience in the United States with close friends. Omotola revealed her dislike for beef and how her brother-in-law does a 5 hours drive from Arizona to get her goat meat. She narrated how the journey to the abattoir took her 1 hour 30 minutes, the different process it took for the meat to be processed, unlike the Lagos style.
In other news, Omotola had revealed some intimate details about her upbringing including how she almost went into prostitution. She recounted her childhood experience, revealing that she was close to going into prostitution to survive because of the challenges she faced at a young age.
