The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and his third wife, Olori Tobi Phillips have revealed the names of their twins to the general public.
It is no longer news that the monarch and his third wife welcomed twins last weekend. According to traditions, 8 days after delivering the set of twins, the Ooni christened his babies.
The Royal twins were named according to the Ile Ife tradition and culture. For Taiye, who is a princess, her names are Adesewa, Oreade, and Oluwatamilore Ejide Ogunwusi.
For Kehinde, the prince, he was christened Adeshina, Oreade, Ejide, Oluwasemilore Ogunwusi.
In a clip captured online, Olori Tobi Phillips was seen reading out the names of the twins from a paper with members of the palace in sight. Noticeably absent was the Ooni.
According to reports, due to tradition, Ooni cannot see his twins for now.
Last weekend, the Ooni via his Instagram page announced the birth of his twins with a photo of him and his third wife and ex-beauty queen, Olori Tobi Phillips. Expressing gratitude to God for the great He has done for them, he announced the birth of his set of twins.
The Ooni made it known that his wife and their twins were doing well to the glory of God.
Speaking out, Olori Tobi took to her Instagram page to share photos from her baby shower, as she expressed gratitude to God for her blessings. She revealed that God gave her double for her trouble and told her to watch and allow Him do His work. From the baby shower photos, the Queen had welcomed a boy and a girl.
Refreshing your memory, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi got married to Tobi Phillips on Sunday, October 9th, 2022. Though the Ooni wasn’t in sight, the King sent his guards, chief, and royal staff to the wedding ceremony.
Last year, Olori Tobi Phillips celebrated their first anniversary with stunning photos, as she noted how it has been 365 days of Grace with her love. She expressed her love for her husband, stating that it was a lifetime to go.
Opening up on how she met the Ooni in an interview with TVC ‘Your View’, Olori Tobi revealed that a mutual friend had introduced her to the monarch, and their chemistry kicked off. However, the two couldn’t get married at that time because of many interferences, which was quite devastating.
In what seems like a message to those who believe she is with the monarch for money, Olori Tobi stated that she told herself she was going to marry for love, hence, why she accepted to be the King’s third wife.
The ex-beauty queen also recounted how she waited for 8 years before eventually getting to become Queen.
The King is married to six wives: Olori Mariam, Olori Elizabeth Akinmuda, Olori Tobi Phillips, Olori Ashley, Olori Ronke, and Olori Temitope.
While marking his 48th birthday and seventh coronation anniversary, Ooni clarified why he married Mariam Anako and the others, explaining that he tried making some changes but he couldn’t because of the traditional heritage of Ile Ife.
