Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has shed more light on her feud with her junior colleague, Eniola Badmus.
Kemi Filani reported a few weeks back that Badmus had left an insensitive comment on Opeyemi’s Instagram page, mocking her over her hairline.
This remark triggered Aiyeola, who expressed hurt and labelled Eniola hypocritical and insensitive. She noted how Badmus used to be body-shamed before her surgery.
Badmus later apologised, stating that the remark was a joke, but Aiyeola deleted the comment, calling it fake and gaslighting. She further explained that she and Badmus weren’t close and had never exchanged personal banter, stressing that their lack of genuine friendship made the comment disrespectful.
In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, Aiyeola revealed that since the day she opened her social media post, Badmus has never liked or celebrated her, and she has never done the same to her. She recalled how they met at the late Murphy Afolabi’s candlelight, and she and Eniola only greeted each other.
Opeyemi revealed that she wasn’t pained by the comment until trolls started mocking her.
“We know ourselves; we might not talk on phones, we know those liking our comments, and we know ourselves liking and commenting on each other’s posts. Since the day I opened my social media post, you’ve never liked my post or celebrated me, and I’ve never done the same to you, and we are not enemies. May Murphy Afolabi rest in peace. When he passed, I went to his candlelight vigil and saw Eniola, whom we greeted each other, but this is social media, and Eniola knows how it works. You said my hair is balding, meanwhile, almost a week before the video I made, social media bad belles have been making bad comments, and I don’t fight people or correct people as long as it didn’t deduct money from my account. You know, went under my comment and said “Opeyemi, where is your hairline?” I was pained by the comment honestly until people went under her comment to mock me, see honestly we all see each other’s comments, forget that ‘somebody is too busy’, no one is too busy”.
In other news, Aiyeola shared a thought-provoking message to Nigerians. The movie star, who is well known for her acting prowess in Yoruba movies, via her Instagram story told netizens never to allow the family they come from to damage them family that come from them. Meaning, don’t allow the damage done to you by your family to affect your children.
