The Nigerian police have called for Big Brother Naija ‘Level Up’ winner, Ijeoma Otabor better known as Phyna over her alleged failure to return a rented wig.
For days now, the reality star has been mercilessly dragged online after a hair vendor called her out for renting her wig and refusing to return it.
Now, the Level Up star has claimed that the hair vendor brought police to her house but she wasn’t around and as such, they dropped a letter.
According to her, her younger sister who was at home informed her of their visit and the letter they dropped in her absence, which called for her to visit a police station in Ogudu. Phyna, who hadn’t heard of the area before, stated that she would find out about the location.
“Yesterday, my younger sister called me and said I’ve visitors in my house. I asked who they were and she said two pol!cemen, the hairstylist, and one woman. I asked who the woman was but she said she didn’t know the woman. “
And they dropped a letter. Because it’s from the police I want to know what to do. It reads, ‘This is the Nigeria Police. Invitation to the police.’ They now put my name and my address. Then it continued, ‘From the DPO Nigeria Police Ogudu.’ I don’t know where Ogudu is, but I will find out.”
Kemi Filani reported during the week that a wig vendor had accused Phyna of failure to return a rented wig. Screenshots were shared, which showed Phyna and her team rather attempting to negotiate a lower price with the vendor.
Phyna, addressing the scandal, expressed weariness at being constantly criticized online, describing the accuser as a “clout chaser” and calling for people to do better.
In an Instagram live video, she claimed the woman was blackmailing her, revealing that she doesn’t know the accuser and suggesting that her management team might have handled the transaction without informing her.
Confused about the entire situation, Phyna also revealed she paid for the arrangement while abroad and, upon returning, attended the event with the wig without her management updating her on the return. She stressed her lack of awareness regarding anything that has to do with the wig.
Her arch-enemy, Blessing Okoro who has been dragging for days, made light of the situation as she mocked the reality star.
Okoro challenged Phyna to take legal action if the accusations were baseless, suggesting a defamation of character suit instead of mere dismissal.
This whole drama is coming just a few days after Phyna was declared a new car by a Nollywood A-list actor. Phyna, who couldn’t hide her joy, shared several dancing emojis on her Twitter page to convey her elation.
