Kemi Filani news recalls Tems had made history and broken records to become the first female Nigerian Afrobeats artist to win an award at the 2022 BET Awards.
The singer who had made Nigerians proud with her musical prowess bagged two awards at the award event which was held on Sunday, June 26th.
Tems became the first female Nigerian artist to win the best International Act, thereby beating Fireboy, Dave, Major League, and others to clinch the award.
Adding to her feathers, 27 year old Tems also took home the award for Best Collaboration from Wizkid’s song “Essence” which features her and Justin Bieber.
This wasn’t just a big night for Tems alone but for Nigerian artistes as well.
