Nigerian Afrobeat Superstar singer, Divine Ikubor better known as Rema has assured billionaire businessman, Tony Elumelu of bringing home the 2024 Grammys.
The singer had paid a visit to the billionaire at his multimillion naira mansion where he was well received by the billionaire and his family. In clips posted on the billionaire’s Instagram story, Tony had expressed excitement at the surprise visit.
In one of the clips, Rena could be seen meeting the billionaire’s wife and sons, who posed for a photo with the award-winning singer.
Rems gifted him an exclusive album copy and his Merch (Air Rema) and assured him of bringing home the 2024 Grammys. He also expressed gratitude to Elumelu for his tremendous impact and support in the music industry, which Rema stated means a lot to him.
“Thank you for what you have done and the support you have for the music industry. I am grateful, it means a lot to me.
This year I am bringing the Grammy”.
How Rema would achieve that is unknown as the singer wasn’t nominated for the award this year.
Kemi Filani reported that the Academy Awards had released its nominations for the 66th Grammy Awards and Rema was absent from the list.
The likes of Davido, Burna Boy, Olamide, Asake, and Ayra Starr bagged nominations, with Burna Boy taking the lead and Davido following suit.
Noticeably absent from the list was Rema, who has been shutting down shows and taking the music industry globally. The singer has one of the biggest Afrobeats songs, Calm Down, which many believed was deserving of a Grammy nomination.
The singer has nothing to worry about losing the Grammy as he made history last year with his performance at the Ballon d’Or award, which was held on Monday, October 30th in Paris, France.
The Afrobeat singer stole the spotlight with his show-stopping performance as he thrilled guests with a beautiful rendition of his chart-topping song, ‘Calm Down’. His performance at Ballon D’or became a historic win for Nigeria, as the singer is the first Afrobeat artist to perform at the award ceremony.
Speaking on his influence in the music industry, Rema, while gracing the cover of I_d magazine stated that no one can deny that he has impacted Afrobeats on a global scale.
The Mavins couldn’t be wrong as the singer has put Nigerian on a big map. From performing in India to his top charting songs and making history as the first artist to perform at the Ballon d’Or award.
In other news, Rema had addressed claims of being a member of the Illuminati, which stemmed from his signature bat emojis, by denying being a member of any secret cult.
Further defending himself, the Calm Down crooner added that he works too hard to create art for people to give the glory to diabolical shit. Rema surprised many as he declared love for God, crowning him the King.
