Award-winning Afrobeats singer, Divine Ikubor better known as Rema has stirred reactions online after he walked off stage at Dreamville Fest.
The ‘Calm Down’ crooner, in a video making rounds online angrily walked off stage in frustration due to production issues. Before walking off stage, Rema had addressed the poor sound issues noting how he was on stage yet they were messing his performance up.
Calling himself ‘Africa’, he stated that he wasn’t feeling his performance as things were all messed up.
“Africa is in the house and you are messing my performance up. I’m seriously not feeling this, it’s too messed up”, he said before walking off stage.
The video has since divided the internet. While some defended him, others slammed him for being proud.

This isn’t the first time Rema has walked off stage. Last year, Rema abruptly ended his show and walked off the stage in anger during his performance in Atlanta due to the venueâs unsatisfactory conditions.
In a viral video on social media, the singer
got onstage and performed just two songs with the audience, then angrily left the stage. Addressing his fans before walking out off the stage, the singer apologized to his audience and promised to reschedule his show in Atlanta as he expressed his discomfort with the heat inside the venue.
Voicing out his grievances, Rema stated that the show organizers had shown disrespect not just towards him but also towards Afrobeats as a genre.
Similarly, fast-rising singer, Asake, had abandoned his show and walked away during a concert in Baltimore, Maryland in the U.S., after his security guardâs gun was stolen.
Before the gun was stolen, Asake was reported to have arrived late for his show and had only performed for 10 minutes when his security guardâs gun went missing.
The singer felt the incident could be part of a plot to attack him and quickly ran away from the event.
