Beloved Nollywood actress, Rita Dominic has revealed why she married late.
The movie star, who made headlines in 2022 after marrying in her 40s in her latest interview, revealed that she wanted to be sure she was marrying for the right reasons and not societal pressure.
She disclosed that there was pressure for her to get married but she turned deaf ears as she had always told herself she would marry the man of her dreams and not the man the society dreams of her. She noted how she would be the one to pack up the pieces if her marriage crashed which was the reason, she didn’t allow society to pressure her.
Rita added that though she met a lot of good men, they weren’t compatible and she isn’t one to force things when it isn’t working.
Speaking on her marital life, she described her marriage to Fidelis Anosike as nice and interesting as she noted how she and her husband had been friends for years before they fell in love and got married.
“Marriage is nice and interesting. We were friends for a long time and then we found love, and then we dated and we got married. I wanted to be sure that I was marrying for the right reasons and not for societal pressure. There was pressure for me before I got married, it was for years. I just turned a deaf ear. I always said I would marry the man of my dreams and not the man the society dreams for me because if anything happens to me tomorrow, I would be the one to pack up the pieces and not the society. So I would do it when I wanted to do it and it would be the right time and I believed I did it at the right time and with the right person. I met a number of good people but it just didn’t happen or work out. I don’t believe in forcing things, if it’s not working, it isn’t working. If you aren’t compatible, there is no point forcing things and then tomorrow you are out of it”.
Recall that Rita Dominic tied the knot to her beau, Fidelis Anosike in a talk of the town’s traditional and white wedding ceremony in 2022.
Her journey to forever began in April when she held her traditional wedding in Imo State. This was followed by her white wedding in November, which was the opposite of her traditional wedding, as it was more low-key.
Marking her first tradiversary in April 2023, Rita noted how it had been one year since she got married to the love of her life.
For her white wedding anniversary, she shared several unseen photos from the wedding and the likes of Ayo Makun, Kate Henshaw, Shaffy Bello, Dorathy Bachor, Omotola Ekeinde, Chioma Akpotha, Stan Nze, and more took to her comment section to drop well wishes for her.
Some months back, Rita Dominic had addressed claims of her dating her husband while he was still with his ex-wife.
A Twitter user, identified as Winter Berry had claimed that the actress started dating him while he was still married.
Reacting to the allegation, Rita faulted the tweep for feeding the public with lies. According to Rita, the allegations were all lies and an attempt to feed gullible people
