Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has called for the freedom of social media activist Martins Vincent Otse better known as Very Dark Man.
Kemi Filani reported that on Friday, the Nigerian Police Force arrested the social media activist in Abuja. His lawyer, Denise Adeyanju, confirmed the arrest on his X account.
Taking to her Instagram page, Rita called for his freedom. She stated that the activist is the only young man who is societally outstanding. She stated that if VDM is silenced, no one is ready to take his place in lending a voice to society.
“I am not exaggerating nor talking down on anyone.
But VDM is the only young man that is societally outstanding. If he is silenced, no other person is ready to take his place as per lending a voice.

The young man is one in a million and does not fear speaking the truth.
Nothing must happen to VDM, else the youths are finished”.
Despite his controversial lifestyle, Rita has continued to stand solidly behind him.
Some months back, Rita had called him a well-meaning activist as she praised his work and prayed for him to grow from strength to strength. The sister-in-law of Pete Edochie told him he would always have her genuine backing and support.
During VDM’s saga with singer Falz, Rita defended him by calling him a well-meaning activist. She praised his work and prayed for him to grow from strength to strength. Calling him her ‘great son’, she assured him that God has his back, and even the world supports and applauds his efforts.
