Nollywood actress Ruth Kadiri has shed light on how she met her husband.
In an interview with Diary of a Naija Girl on her podcast, Dear Ife, she recounted how she met her husband and how God spoke to her about him. According to her, she met him at work and initially declined to talk to him, but she agreed after pressure from her friend. She said they talked about business and importation, and when she stood up to leave, the Spirit of God told her he was her husband. Unfortunately, she blocked him two days later.
Kadiri said she didn’t know they would be married six years ago. The light-skinned movie star said going public with her man made her more committed to her relationship.
The mother of two also bragged about being a catch during her younger days, as she knew whoever married her would be lucky. Kadiri also revealed that she turned down three proposals.
“Six years ago, I thought we wouldn’t marry each other. I was a catch. I knew anybody who would marry me would be lucky. I knew all that about my life. Who was I now going to marry? I said no to about three people. I said yes because God told me he was my husband.
I went to work. He saw me and wanted to talk to me, but I said no. My friend said I should talk to him, and I agreed. We talked about business and importation.
As I stood and walked away, the Spirit of God told me he was my husband. Two days later, I blocked him”.
Also in the interview, Ruth addressed claims of hiding her husband. She said she isn’t hiding her man as they attend events together, and she posts him. She said people don’t know him, so they think she is hiding him.
In an interview in May with Chude Jideonwo, Ruth recounted how she handled trolls who mocked her over the size of her engagement ring. The mother of two admitted that she can be a petty person at times, and to deal with the trolls, she stormed their pages one after the other to lash out at them.
Last year, Kadiri had penned a sweet note to her husband to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary. She stated that she couldn’t have wished for any other person in the 5 years of their marriage, stating her happiness and peace had been derived from being married.
