Nigerian music producer and singer, Samklef has shifted his attention to Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti.
Recall that a year back the son of late Fela Kuti was arrested for slapping a police officer. Using that to taunt him, Samklef noted how he and Very Dark Man and now ex-cell mate.
Giving him a new name, he stated that Nigerians should start addressing Seun as Very Noise Man. He further added that while Very Dark Man should be given the office of the President, Seun should get the office of the Vice President.
“From today make una Dey call am very noise man. him very dark man join that. E mop or mopping stick party. Both of dem be ex-cell mates. Very dark dirty man for president x very noisy mumu man for vice president”.
Kemi Filani reported on May 13th, 2023 that Seun Kuti trended on all social media platforms over a video of him physically assaulting a Nigerian police officer at Third Mainland Bridge.
Speaking out, Seun Kuti alleged that the policeman wanted to kill him and his family. The son of Fela Kuti stated that he had proof of it, but he wasn’t one to chase clout. He added that the policeman had apologized to him and he had agreed not to press charges.
Unfortunately for him, The Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba had ordered his arrest and a full investigation into the remote and immediate cause(s) of the alleged assault and the prosecution of the suspect accordingly.
After a week in detention, he was released on bail from the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Lagos. This was confirmed by his attorney, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, SAN, in a telephone interview with Punch.
In his first public statement, he penned an appreciation post to his wife, family, and lawyers, as he stated that he owes his freedom and sanity to them.
