Media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa has spoken on her relationship with her Maker and why she tore her prayer request.
Taking to the micro-blogging platform Twitter now known as X, she revealed that she tore all her prayer requests because she noticed that those who have tragedy befall them aren’t God’s enemies. She has realized that God owes u nothing and that good and bad will always happen to people. However, she believes one should just do his own thing and relax as life has already been programmed to happen how it will.
Toke made it clear that though she knows God is real, she struggles to understand why there is so much pain in the world. Toke stated that people shouldn’t misquote her tweet, as she isn’t saying God doesn’t change things or prayer isn’t good. But, she tore up her prayer requests cause people are often obsessed with what we want God to do next that they do not live in the moment whether it be good or bad.
The media personality added that those whose misfortune happens to are also loved by God, also prayed and believed but life will always happen as it has been programmed.
“I know God is real but I struggle to understand why there is so much pain in the world, why good people die, why death has to be so excruciating, why does it seem like when you’re about to enjoy life, something goes wrong? Why do kids/young people die? Why were they born sef?
Today I woke up and tore up all my prayer requests, cos the people that have tragedy befall them are not God’s enemies. I have realized he owes us nothing. Good and bad happen to all. Just do your own bit and relax, life has already been programmed to happen how it will.

Recall that following Toke’s divorce from her ex-husband, Maje Ayinde, she had taken her religion seriously.
She revealed that her relationship with God was the only thing in the world that was keeping her balanced. She stated that she questions how people survive in this world, especially in their industry without God.
Last year, Toke Makinwa was in awe of God as her younger sister, Busayo announced her pregnancy after 6 years of waiting.
Toke stated that she was in awe of God and couldn’t wait to share it. She noted how God had remembered her sister, had parted the Red Sea, and had broken the walls of Jericho.
