A core afrobeat super fan has in a recent video, expressed his views on the topic of the top three in the Nigerian music industry.
He revealed that until 2019, a majority of people only knew about the top 2, which was Davido and Wizkid. He also went on to express that “On the low” singer Burna Boy had entered the top African music scene in 2019 after he his famous album, African Giant.
The man disclosed how that the album had propelled Burna Boy into global recognition and brought him into the competitive space.
Recall that just a few weeks back, Kemi Filani had reported that some Nigerians had slammed Burna Boy after he hinted at being bigger than Davido and Wizkid. In an interview in a recent concert, the artist expressed that he was not a part of the big three, which naturally consisted of himself, Davido, and Wizkid.
He boldly stated that there was the big two, and then there was Burna Boy, hinting at the fact that he was separate from the top two. However, netizens wasted no time expressing their disapproval at his commentary, some even took to the comment section to slam him. They slammed him for being rude and proud. Another netizens also compared him to Lucky Dube; the Ikorodu version.
Now recall that back in December of 2023, Wizkid and Davido had surprised a lot of their fans when they were spotted together in an event vibing and chilling together while they danced to Davido’s song, Feel. This video was one that left a lot of their fans feeling contented with a few others expressing their disapproval at the musical bromance.
