Famous transgender activist Bisi Alimi has knocked controversial crossdresser Idris Okunneye, popularly called Bobrisky, over his statement on why he abandoned the male gender.
Kemi Filani News recalls that Bobrisky, in a recent interview with Nigerian journalist Chude Jideonwo, said he became a woman because being a woman has paved a lot of ways for him.
According to Bobrisky, being a man subjected him to lots of ridicule, a slave, and nobody wanted to associate with him, but being a woman has given him lots of opportunities.
The statement generated controversy among many social media users and females who dragged Bobrisky, stating his words were disrespectful to the female gender.
Also reacting, Bisi Alimi, in a post shared on his Instagram page, described Bobrisky as a local champion, adding that people will never hear such a statement from any trans woman.
Bisi Alimi Further questioned what happened when being a woman does not pay anymore.
He added that he wished all women and trans women would endure the everyday violence and deal with the societal norm in which men hold power and women are largely excluded from it.
He wrote: I changed to a woman because it opens doors for me, Is never a statement you will hear from a trans woman, but your local champion knows no better.
I wish all women and trans woman who endure violence everyday and have to deal with patriarchy bullshit can learn something form a “woman for pay when it suits you” person and what happens when being a woman doesn’t pay you anymore? Oh! I am sure we are not yet ready for that conversation.
