Nigerian talent manager Ubi Franklin has spoken about recent developments in the music industry and their effects on its growth.
Sharing photos and videos of his moments with his friend David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, Ubi Franklin stated that the music business is at a crossroads.
He stated that the rise of the internet has impacted the world we are which means the past is not coming back.
However, he noted that the internet and social networking are avenues for the likes of Davido, Wizkid, Burnaboy, Awake, Rema, and others who are yet to be born to shine.
“We are at a crossroads in the music business: with the rise of the internet, the world we live in has changed, and the past is not coming back. But I see the glass as half-full: the internet and social networking are new avenues for the next Davido, Iyanya, Burnaboy, Wizkid, Asake, Rema, Ayra Star Tems, etc. to be born on.”
Recalled that, Ubi Franklin bagged a Bachelor of Laws-LLB (Hons) from the University of Essex.
He shared the good news via his Instagram page where he recounted his bitter-sweet experience. He revealed that in March 2020, he got the information that Nigeria would be going on lockdown due to a pandemic and being a restless person with a desire always to achieve new goals, he was of the opinion that his various university degrees weren’t enough and he needed something more.
The news has been met with reactions as some noted how he has upgraded from a nanny to Davido’s twins to a lawyer.
