It is no longer news that filmmaker and award-winning actress, Uche Jombo took a break from acting to face family for while.
The Abia State born actress recently took out time to share success tips with new generation actors.
Jombo, in an Instagram live interview with Nevadabridgetv, making a face and career in Nollywood is slightly easier than her time.
“I always say that this generation has it slightly easier in the sense that there is social media you can post yourself with a strong monologue and tag actors, producers, and people you feel can call you for an audition depending on how strong your monologue turns out to be,” she began. “They (this generation) have it easier because you actually have a platform you can post and tag people that you feel will be interested in them which is the easiest way to get any attention. I did a project where most of the cast we got off the internet so it is easier now.”
The seasoned actress with 23 years of experience went on to advise young talents to pay attention to details whenever they get a lead for an audition.
“They should read the direction, every audition notice, everyone sent to you, read the direction, it guides you. If you do not read it, you might not bring the mood you are supposed to bring, and then you might lose the job to someone who reads the directions. Always read the directions it is imperative,” the actress and producer noted.
The mother of one who currently resides in the United States of America admitted to being off the screen for a while but hinted that she will be returning soon with an upcoming series, ‘Dr.Love.’
The Nollywood actress turned producer, director and writer was among the 65 female film and television practitioners honored under the category of ‘Actors with impact’ recently at the Eko Star Film and TV Awards.
