Nollywood actress and body positivity advocate, Monalisa Stephen has queried her colleagues in the entertainment industry over their lack of support for one of their own, Funke Akindele better known as Jenifa.
Funke Akindele has gained no support from her colleagues in the entertainment industry since her emergence as the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos because they have been politically divided.
Taking to her Instagram page a few days to the 2023 gubernatorial elections will be held on 11th March, Monalisa Stephen has shown massive support for her senior colleague as she queries others.
According to the plus-size actress, she is supporting who she can trust as she won’t join her other colleagues to sit on the fence. She noted that Funke Akindele is a successful woman who has achieved success. She asked why those the actress has worked for in the industry are not supporting her while noting that she is young and capable of holding the position she is vying for.
Throwing shades at yer colleagues, Monalisa Stephen asked where those who rant about women supporting women are. She further tagged them as gossipers and fake industry.
She wrote: “If I truly want what’s best for my country. I won’t sit on the fence. I will come out to support who I can trust. Funke Akindele have Worked . She’s a strong woman who is successful. Facts are there! Go and Verify. Only in the entertainment industry, are you saying @funkejenifaakindele have no integrity? Why are we not supporting her in this industry. She have friends, colleagues . She have worked with lots of people. Why are you not coming out to support her? Shey @funkejenifaakindele no get INTEGRITY?? She’s not Old o. She’s Young o . She can do it . Don’t just vote because some people are doing it. After all this woman years of hard work. Why are her own colleague not fully supporting her? She no get Integrity for their Eyes! Funke Akindele makes public plea ahead of gubernatorial elections
Kemi Filani recalls that Funke Akindele took to social media to make a public appeal ahead of the 2023 general elections after her colleagues failed to support her.
The Box Office queen failed to pull support from her colleagues as they are divided politically. Funke’s best friend, Eniola Badmus also did not show support for her. Although Eniola Badmus congratulated Funke on her appointment; noticeably, the duo has kept their distance from each other on social media, especially on posts about supporting their candidates.
Funke Akindele in the video shared educated her fans on how to vote for her party in the coming election. She also detailed the right way and approach to making a valid vote for her party.
