Multiple award winning singer Tiwa Savage took to Instagram to send her well wishes to Africans who were nominated for the Grammys award that will be taking place today. In her post, she wrote, ‘Wishing all my Kings and Queens good luck today Y’all are winners Africa is winning’
Despite not being nominated, Tiwa Savage was kind enough to send well wishes to her colleagues for their nominations. In Nigeria, Ayra Starr, Burnaboy, Asake and Olamide, and Davido were all nominated for the Best African Music Performance category.
Ayra Starr was nominated for her song Rush, and it has been top on many charts since its release, and Ayra Starr did a good job of promoting it.
Burnaboy on the other hand was nominated for his song City Boys, which took over the music scene for a very long time, and even prompted online challenges.
Asake and Olamide made it to the Grammys awards under the Best African Music performance category because of their song ‘Amapiano’. This song was a club banger, and an all time favorite fit Nigerians and many other countries.
Davido was also nominated, and he made it to the list because of his song ‘Unavailable’, which trended worldwide, and it got a lot of recognition in the process.
All eyes are set on the nominees to bring the crown home, and a lot of fan bases in Nigeria are rooting for their favorite artists to win. On the other hand, we have some people who just want a Nigerian to bring the award home, and they don’t mind who brings it home.
