Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Yemi Alade has floored a fan for comparing her to her colleague, Tiwa Savage.
Yemi Alade, via the micro-blogging platform Twitter now known as X, teased huge news with her millions of fans as she addressed Africans. The Afrobeat singer stated that the Time is now.
“Africa our time is NOW”.
Reacting a fan compared her with Tiwa Savage, stating that she is better.
“U better than Tiwa”.
Clearly not pleased with the comparison, Yemi slammed him for the comparison, which she avowed is the thief of joy. Yemi noted how she and Tiwa are both winning in their field as she urged her fans to celebrate and support both of them.
“Comparison is the thief of joy. We’re both winning. Celebrate and support us all”.
Last year, Yemi lamented the poor condition of Nigeria despite the breaking of Afrobeats in world music.
Yemi Alade testified that Afrobeats is steadily breaking barriers worldwide, and Nigerian ambassadors have continued to release melodious sounds.
The singer further revealed that her heart is with Nigeria, which is in the worst condition the country has ever experienced.
The award-winning singer also expressed excitement when she finally performed live without make-up for the first time in her career.
Yemi Alade, who shared the beautiful moment in her story, notified her fans that although it was never her plan to perform without make-up. Still, she has never felt so uninhibited and musically unhinged.
In other news, Alade had given important advice about marriage as she spoke out about the pressure from her family and friends to get married.
In an interview with Cool FM, Yemi subtly debunked rumors that she had wedded her manager as she stated that she was single. She noted how people tie the knot, especially during the end of the year, but she isn’t under any pressure to do so as she believes in the right time.
Yemi admitted that family pressure is a challenging thing to resist, however, she believes if they genuinely love her, they will be patient as finding the right man is more crucial than just getting married.
Recall that reports made rounds that Yemi Alade had tied the knot with her longtime manager, Taiye Aliyu.
The singer, has over the years, been romantically linked with her manager, who she has been working with for over 6 years now.
According to reports, the two started dating around 2018 and decided to take their relationship to the next level and held a private introduction ceremony between both families.
