Nollywood actor Yemi Ayebo, popularly known as Yemi My Lover, has called out music star Olamide for ignoring him.
In a recent interview, he claimed that the famous singer used his name in a song and ignored his calls and messages for over six months, despite initially promising to reach him.
According to him, Olamide was the first to sing with his name, and he was happy when he heard it. He stated that his name blessed him, hence why Davido also used his name in his song.
Unfortunately, his joy was cut short when Yemi noted that the YBNL boss never acknowledged or reached out to him.
Yemi recalled an encounter with Pasuma, who inquired if he was compensated and when he found out he wasn’t, reached out to Olamide, who apologised and collected his number, but things didn’t go as expected.
“Olamide was the first to sing with my name. I was very happy when I heard the song, and I thanked God. God blessed my name, so people used it to sing. Davido also sang with my name; many people used it.
Pasuma asked me if Olamide compensated me for using his name in his song. I said no and that I had never met him before; we don’t have each other’s numbers. Then Pasuma called him on the phone.
Pasuma gave me his number, and I called Olamide for more than six months, but he never picked up my call. I sent him messages, but he never read them or replied, so I let him be. “
Recall that ‘Yemi My Lover’ was mentioned and even used as the title for one of the songs in an album: ‘Baddest Guy Ever Liveth’ released by Olamide in 2013.
Recall that in the middle of 2023, Yemi My Lover called out Tope Alabi for neglecting him after stardom. The actor revealed that Tope was his apprentice in the movie industry in the ’90s, but she made it, she switched on him as he can’t remember any help she rendered to him.
Yemi My Lover claimed that Tope doesn’t even pick up his calls and didn’t acknowledge his birthday last year, despite him taking a letter to her office.
Surprisingly, he retracted his statement days later, claiming that his words were only out of love for the award-winning singer as he wasn’t the one who established her. He questioned why he would be expecting anything from her, as he made it known that he doesn’t have anything against Tope.
