Following reports of a possible split between American reality star, Porsha Williams and her Nigerian husband, Simon Guobadia, Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has weighed into it.
Taking to his Instagram page, Yul admonished couples planning a big wedding to go ahead with it. He advised them to do what makes them happy and shouldn’t allow anyone to decide how they should spend their money.
According to him, if having a big wedding would pain their haters, then it should pain them well. However, what he doesn’t approve of is having to beg to have a big wedding.
“If you want to have a big wedding & you can afford it.
Go ahead and do it.
Do what will make you happy
Don’t let anyone tell you how to spend your money.
If your wedding pain dem make e pain dem well well.

This advice is coming hours after news made rounds that Porsha Williams had filed for divorce from her husband of a year.
According to reports, the reality star pulled the plug on their marriage on Thursday in Atlanta and at the time of reporting the cause of their split is an ‘ongoing matter’.
Williams and Guobadia said “I do”, in November 2023 in a lavish Nigerian traditional native law and custom ceremony followed by an American wedding in Atlanta.
This isn’t the first time, Yul is advising intending couples, as last year, he expressed his surprise and shock at hearing about couples who resort to borrowing money to fund their weddings.
Yul Edochie emphasized the importance of staying within one’s financial means and not succumbing to societal pressure when it comes to wedding expenses.
He urged couples to prioritize what they can comfortably afford, underlining that the most crucial aspect is starting a family, not the grandeur of the wedding ceremony.
Also sharing his thoughts on marriage and the high rate of divorce, the movie star described marriage as a beautiful thing as he advised singles not to be discouraged by couples divorcing.
He noted how a few tips can help one have a long-lasting marriage but there was no laid down proven formula to it.
He pointed out that most times the main reason for a marriage crash is not revealed on social media.
