Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has shared his last moment with late AMAA founder, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe.
Taking to his Instagram to mourn the deceased, Yul revealed that he had a phone conversation with Peace weeks ago. He claimed that she told him the plans she had for Nollywood in 202$ and commended him for his works.
Bading her goodbye, he prayed for God to console and comfort her family.
“Life is so uncertain. Just few weeks ago I had a phone conversation with her where she told me the plans she had for Nollywood in 2023 and commended me for my work.
Today she’s gone.
Rest well Madam Peace Anyiam-Osigwe.
May God grant your family the strength to bear the loss”.
Peace Anyiam-Osigwe is dead
Kemi Filani reported hours ago that the founder of the African Movie Academy Awards, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe is dead.
The AMAA founder was pronounced dead at St. Nicholas Hospital, Lagos after going into Coma since Saturday, January 7th.
The sad news was confirmed by Zik Zulu, one of her associates, in a public statement.
“Our President, Peace has passed.
“As at Saturday, she was reported to be in Voma at Saint Nicholas.
Family release official statement following her death
Releasing an official statement following her shocking death, her family called for privacy.

Peace, the Ada of the Anyiam-Osigwe family, was an outstanding personality, trailblazer, titan, pathfinder, go-getter, humanitarian, one-of-a-kind creative, and visionary leader in the film and television industry. Peace left indelible imprints on the sands of time.
We as a family and clan will continue do all that is necessary to ensure that her legacy lives on – the Africa Movie Academy Awards and the Africa Film Academy, along with their training programmes across Nigeria and the African continent will carry on seamlessly by institutions she set up and with the full support of the Osigwe Anyiam-Osigwe Foundation and other Institutions and Government Agencies whith whom she has worked over the years.* Her numerous charities across different religious denominations and other communities will also be continued.
