Blogger Japhet Omojuwa and Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde have advised women to work on financial Independence in marriage.
The discussion was kick-started by Omojuwa who stated that such should be the priority of women regardless of whether they are married to a billionaire or not.
According to him, financial Independence is a matter of life and death.
He tweeted:
“The No. 1 need of a woman in a marriage is financial independence. It doesn’t matter if you are married to Aliko Bill Gates. This is a matter of life, death and freedom. Don’t sacrifice it on the altar of “he loves me.” I know what I am saying”.
Omotola threw her weight behind his stance saying, “dont sacrifice it on ANY Alter! Dear Woman”.
