Evangelist Akinjide Durojaiye got beaten for stealing mobile phones while preaching from shop to shop in Ibadan, Oyo State.
A 49-year-old Evangelist at Dominion Assembly in Ilare-Ijesa area of Osun state, had other intentions despite claiming he was directed by the “spirit” to preach to the people at a phone shop in Femi Johnson Building located at Dugbe.
During the course of his preaching, the Evangelist made away with two phones worth N70,000 and hid in a shop in the complex. Unluckily for him, an attendant found him which led to a mob descending on him.
In his confession, the Evangelist who blamed it on the devil stated that he still the phones because he needed to raise money for the medical bills of his son who fell from a 2-storey building.
It was later discovered that his wife abandoned their kids with him after divorce. He was later released due to the intervention of some persons.
