A nineteen year old Nigerian teenager identified as Babatunde Sulaimon, has been arrested following his involvement in the gang rape of a sixteen year old
Sulaimon who kick started the new year committing a criminal offence is currently being charged with the criminal offence for allegedly masterminding the entire operation which involved forceful sexual activity with a girl in his neighborhood
It was learnt that the victim who was a sales attendant, was returning home from work at 11:00pm when she was accosted by Sulamon and his five friends who carried her into an uncompleted building and raped her
He ran out of luck however, after committing the act when the girl was able to recognise and identify him as the man who had been disturbing her for a chance to talk to her.
Though the teenager and his accomplices fled the area after news of their atrocities became public, he has since been arrested and remanded in prison custody pending the advise from Director of Public Prosecutions on allegations of rape against him while his accomplices are still at large
An Ikorodu Magistrate Court gave the order following his arraignment on two-count charge of conspiracy and defilement.
The prosecutor, John Iberedim, had earlier told the court that the defendant had on November 30 at Ajose Area of Owutu, Ikorodu, conspired with five others, now at large, to gang-rape the girl.
The chief magistrate adjourned the case until March 5, 2020 for further hearing.
