One Mahendra Singh Gond has been sentenced to death by hanging for the vicious rape of a four-year-old girl.
According to the reports, Gond was sentenced on September 19, 2018, and is due to be executed at 5 am on March 2, 2019.
The convict reportedly assaulted the victim so badly that her intestines had to be realigned in surgery.
After reportedly committing the crime on June 30, 2018, in Madhya Pradesh district, India, Gond dumped the young child in a bush, thinking that she was dead.
Following a desperate search, after the victim was discovered missing, her family found her in terrible pains after which she was rushed to the hospital.
Times Now News reports that the little girl was subsequently airlifted to another hospital in Delhi where she underwent an operation for the realignment of her intestines.
Thankfully, barely hours after the attack, the victim’s statement during recovery led to Gond’s arrest.
Gond was arrested within hours of the horrific attack and he was convicted after the girl made a statement during her recovery.
