The 81st edition of the Golden Globes Awards unfolded on January 8, 2024, amidst the glamour of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles California on the 7th of January, 2024.
Hosted by the witty Jo Koy and organized by the Hollywood Foreign Press, the ceremony welcomed a star-studded array of celebrities, including luminaries such as Wanda Sykes, Angela Bassett, Emma Stone, Oprah Winfrey, Danielle Brooks, Helen Mirren, Selena Gomez, Tyler James Williams, and more.

A standout moment came with the recognition of Ayo Edebiri, a talented Nigerian-born American actress who clinched the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Comedy for her outstanding performance in the television comedy “The Bear.”
On her big night, Adorned in a specially crafted Prada red technical satin column gown, which showcased a voile knotted drape detail, Ayo stepped onto the red carpet with grace. Complementing the ensemble were matching red satin pumps and a striking piece of Boucheron, all tastefully styled by Daniel Goldberg for a touch of subtle glam.
Edebiri started her career in stand-up comedy, delivering a set on Comedy Central’s “Up Next”. The scripted digital series “Ayo and Rachel Are Single,” co-written and co-starring Edebiri and her comedian friend Rachel Sennott, premiered on the network in May 2020.
In the same year, she made her film debut in the comedy-drama “Shithouse” in an uncredited role and has since embraced diverse roles in the industry.
Since 2020, Edebiri has been a writer and voice performer on the animated series “Big Mouth” and contributed as a writer for the comedy series “What We Do In the Shadows” in 2022.
In 2023, she lent her voice to characters in “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem,” while also securing leading roles in the comedy films “Theater Camp” and “Bottoms.”
Her most notable contributions include lending her voice to the character Missy in “Big Mouth” and bringing to life the character Sydney Adamu on “The Bear”, a role that garnered her the prestigious Golden Globe for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy and also a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award.
