Shatta Wale takes Ghana vs Nigeria clash beyond Jollof rice to music
Ghana artiste Shatta Wale has been trending over the past few hours on social media after a video of him dragging not just the Nigerian entertainment industry but also the Nigerian fans.
Shatta Wale in his video said “They said I won’t be able to fill my own stadiums, I don’t need any Nigerian artiste to sell out Ghana’s stadium, f**k Nigerian artistes,” the rapper had said.
The statement got many Nigerians angry as they took turns to fire back at Shatta Wale, with many stressing that they had never heard of his music before.
Shatta Wale would later respond again by saying;
“Your artistes see Ghana like heaven. Anytime I say something about Nigeria it hits them hard. You guys sing about love but you don’t have it. All na scam.”
He added, “Nobody is hating nobody here but the way you Naija people like comparing your artistes to us is absurd.
“Sorry for those Naija rats saying they haven’t heard my music before. Yes it’s because I am too ok with the love from Ghana where I was born rather than a strangers’ land to intimidate me.”
Shatta Wale’s tweet has further sparked disagreement between Nigerian fans and Ghanian fans, especially on Twitter, where the two countries are known to trade words on who has the best jollof rice.
While some Nigerian stars like Yul Edochie have called on Shatta Wale to apologise, Nigerian music big wigs like Wizkid (Who takes Ghana as his second home), Davido, Olamide, Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, among others, have all turned deaf ears to Shatta Wale rants.
However, some Nigerian artists like DMW star Peruzzi have been reacting via shades as he wrote via his Twitter account, “there is no way you’d really be winning in life and have time for hate.”
Hopefully, Shatta Wale would apologise to Nigerians; else, this would be another round of trade of words that would supersede the jollof rice banters and could affect the relationship between the two countries music industry.
